About Us: We Didn’t Set Out To Build A Business
We were just a group of skilled Electrical Engineers who kept crossing paths on jobs over the years. Each of us was trained to the highest industry standards with a wealth of experience behind us. Before long, we weren’t just colleagues. We were friends.
We celebrated weddings and birthdays together. We took holidays together. And on site, even when working in different areas, we always had each other’s backs. Teamwork came naturally.
Then, one sunny day on a big job in the city, someone said over lunch: “Why don’t we do this ourselves? As one big team.” And so we did.
Over the next few years, we built the business quietly. No website, no social media and no advertising. Just word of mouth and a solid reputation. We all came to the table with clients and contacts who had worked with us before and valued what we delivered. Over time, some of us moved into office roles and some into team leadership, while the younger engineers were encouraged to lead in the field, spotting talent and shaping the future of the team.
We didn’t know if it would work. But we were earning a living doing what we loved, and doing it together. That was enough.

What began as a simple idea became a business with strong roots. Work didn’t need to be chased. It found us.

Today we operate from two main offices in Essex and Suffolk, with satellite offices in High Wycombe, Huntingdon and Sheffield. We serve clients nationwide, saving them time and money. That’s our guarantee.

Beyond the work, giving back has always been part of how we operate. We’ve supported charities and local causes since the early days, not for recognition but because it matters to us. Today we’re proud sponsors of the Mistley Women’s Rugby Team, known as The Swans, and Harrowby Diamonds FC, a men’s walking football team. It’s just another part of who TISS is.
